Suncor T&D is the one of the largest power utility companies in Northern Alberta with over 260 Substations, powerlines in different voltage levels and 11 generation stations in the base plant and Firebag only. Scope of work for this project included owner engineering services in behalf of the client for the following scope:
- Collecting all protection relays settings and fuses data from the field
- Modeling the T&D systems ( 260KV, 144KV, 72KV, 34.5KV, 25KV and 138KV) in ASPEN software
- Review the existing protection settings and coordination and propose the changes
- Implement the changes in the field and test the relays with the new settings
